I didn’t finish my post last night. I remembered that I still had to pack my bags.
Taking a break now but I forgot what I was about to write. All I know now is that I was looking for the translation of ‘Tere Ishq Nachaya’ and then stumbled upon a real nice version of the song. It’s from a Pakistani movie called ‘Majajan’ and unlike the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abida Parveen or pop versions, it’s so soft and charming that it almost transforms the song. I have no idea who the singer is but it’s so beautiful
If you have some time please do watch it: Link
Tere Ishq Nachaya by Bulleh Shah:
(Above is not a translation but a translation of the poem by Bulleh Shah this song was inspired on. Some kind soul out there was kind enough to put it on the net)

beyond change and between continuity it exists…
I could never imagine that you will write Bulle Shah’s poetry in your blog..He was amazing..I could never get enough of his poetry & philosophy.
Hey, this guy named Rabbi Shergill came out with an album few years back & it had Bulle Shah’s poetry in most of the numbers..( I simply love Bulle ki Jaana & Tere Bin)..He sang them quite well too..ppl like Amitabh bachan & VS Naipaul became his fans..Check out on youtube if u havent listened him..

Hey MouseM! I’m now in hot hot… HOT Tamil Nadu listening to this song and it sure is refreshing. No idea this was from Khuda Kay Liye. What’s the movie like? I’ve heard there was some controversy about it – any updates on date or even more so, is it worth watching?
It’s awesome to hear bulleh shah in this compo. music wise it’s real interesting.
Thanks!
Khuda keh liya is a good movie, i think the best out of Pakistan in recent times. The controversy is about some religious issues, some points are very interesting and valid about the movie. For example, the movie suggests that is is all right for a Muslim woman to marry a Christian under the islamic teachings, which is absolutely wrong from the perspective of religious scholars. Other than some glitches, its a fairly well made movie, with great music and story. The so called relegious-right has tried to shut it down, which i believe would be wrong as well, because despite the flaws the overall portrayal is pretty.
Its worth watching…this song is also sung by Abida Parveen, which is possibly a better and more original version.
I hope Tamil Nadu is treating u well, have some badam milk for me…
